- Your History
Redesigning is the perfect way to breathe new life into old jewelry or stones. Your new piece of jewelry can be inspired by what was or be a fresh new look. Redesigning is a wonderful way to pass jewelry through generations (turn a stray diamond earring into a ring or combine a collection of family stones into a pendant.) Honor and transform your history while maximizing the value of existing materials.
I was honored to make engagement and wedding rings years ago for my dear friend, Kathy J. Post-divorce, I am honored to have remade her rings into a new piece of jewelry honoring her transformation. The video documents the process of the wax carving (the green material) and the lost wax casting of the models into sterling silver and 22K gold.
The final portrait of Kathy was taken by Kate Hailey - Thanks Kate!

"I had combed through numerous design sites and visited boutiques in the NYC area and was starting to wonder whether I would ever find the "right" designer to create my wedding set. Then my sister said she thought a friend of hers knew a great designer in Rochester and introduced me to Jen Townsend. After seeing the work on her website and talking to Jen on the phone, I was confident that she would create something unique yet timeless and just right. I sent her our jewels and really put my faith in her skill and she didn't disappoint. I couldn't be happier with the result! I think the rings really speak for themselves. It's an incredible testament to her talent that she was able to create such a perfect set for me having never met me in person!"
"When I broke my engagement ring I was devastated. It is an antique that belonged to my husband’s grandmother and I thought it would never be the same. We weren’t sure what to do, and since I couldn’t wear it as it was, I put the ring away. Secretly, my husband sent it to Jen so she could work her magic. A few months after I broke it, my husband handed me my ring! I was shocked to see it fixed, and looking even more gorgeous than I remembered.
I was nervous about getting my ring fixed because the entire bottom half needed to be rebuilt from scratch. Jen managed to capture the style and, most importantly, my memory of the ring perfectly! She enlarged the design a little bit so I was able to appreciate the tiny details that had been worn away in the original ring. The small, intricate shapes blend with the rest of the piece and now my antique engagement ring has a modern twist. I could barely tell where the new stopped and the old started. Now it’s stronger and thicker than it was before, which makes me happy and I’m able to wear it everyday. Jen went above and beyond all our expectations. I couldn’t be happier to have my ring back and I love the work she’s done. Absolutely amazing."
